Bexley Public Library Director Takes on New Role at Capital University
BEXLEY, Ohio—Dr. Rachel Rubin will step down as library director of Bexley Public Library on . She will become director of library and information services at Capital University.
Under Dr. Rubin's transformative leadership, Bexley Public Library stands as a point of pride for the entire Bexley community. In addition to increased circulation and patron visits, the library has experienced dramatic growth in lifelong learning programs. During Dr. Rubin’s tenure, Bexley Public Library launched volunteer and outreach programs, started homebound patron services, and modernized key library infrastructure. In addition, Bexley Public Library joined the Central Library Consortium, expanding the library’s catalog of materials from 350,000 items to more than 4.5 million items.
Sam Shamansky, President of the Library’s Board of Trustees, and his colleagues are grateful for Dr. Rubin’s service. “The Board thanks Dr. Rubin for her exemplary leadership over the past seven years. We intend to build upon that progress as we seek a new director. We wish Dr. Rubin all the best in her new position.
